Tiles
NATURAL SURFACE/SPLIT OR SAWN SIDES/ RANDOM LENGTH or FIX SIDE
Trentino porphyry tiles are, by their very nature, of historic and architectural value. Used for centuries, porphyry is aesthetically pleasing. As a raw material, it is structurally suitable for flooring and furnishing elements in buildings as well as for providing paving on streets and in private homes and corporate buildings.
Porphyry tiles for exteriors and interiors: restoring charm to any environment
Trentino porphyry is extracted from two quarries, Odorizzi Giuseppe and Porfidi Pianacci, before being transported to the Urban Stone Laboratory for processing and transformation into floor coverings and tiles for external and internal use.
The tiles are fashioned by cutting or sawing slabs or blocks of porphyry according to the required use and finish.
Once cut, the slabs are treated to create polished surfaces for streets, avenues and larger areas that receive light to heavy traffic as well as for covering surfaces in pedestrian areas. The technique of polishing with dry sawdust brings life to stone tiles destined for interior use.
Working with our designers and considering the intended use, it is possible to determine the exact type of tile best suited to each architectural proposition.
External tiles with thicknesses between 4 cm and 7cm are ideal for paving streets and heavy traffic areas while tiles with a thickness of between 2cm and 5cm can be used for squares and areas of lighter use.
Tiles for paving pedestrian areas or for interior floors and furnishing elements are created from thinner slabs with thicknesses between 1cm and 3cm.
